At the national press conference for the 2025 National Middle School Athletic Games, Deputy Director-General Fang Jui-wen of the Sports Administration (SA) stated that the SA long been committed to promoting physical education and nurturing sporting talent. The National Middle School Athletic Games are not only a stage for athletic competition but also an important moment for students to display themselves and go beyond their limits.

Deputy Director-General Fang Jui-wen of the Sports Administration, (4th from left), Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (5th from left), President of the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee Lin Hong-dow (3rd from left), and President of the Republic of China Sports Federation Yeh Cheng-yen (2nd from the left) jointly announced the “Start of Glory” of the 2025 National Middle School Athletic Games, inviting people across Taiwan to go to Tainan and cheer for the athletes.

SA Director-General Cheng Shih-chung (front row, left) visited the Anong River Canoe Slalom Competition Course in Yilan County on April 10 for pre-completion inspection.

The Sports Administration allocated NT$200 million to Yilan County Government for the construction of the Anong River Canoe Slalom Competition Course and its associated facilities. A test event for the World Masters Games 2025 Taipei City & New Taipei City and opening ceremony are scheduled for April 30.

The Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games will be held from July 16 to 27. The Ministry of Sports is set to be established this year, with building international networks to achieve sports diplomacy goals as a key policy focus. The Sports Administration invited the Palau national table tennis and baseball teams to Taiwan for off-site training. On April 16, Director-General Cheng Shih-Chung (front row, first from the left) accompanied the teams to the Taipei Dome to watch the CPBL game between the Wei Chuan Dragons and the Rakuten Monkeys, giving them the opportunity to experience a Taiwanese professional baseball game in person.

The Sports Administration has been promoting the "Corporate Recruitment of Sports Instructors" program since 2018. The opening ceremony of the 2025 National Middle School Athletic Games was held on the evening of April 19 in Tainan City. President Lai Ching-te attended and delivered a speech encouraging the athletes to do their best in competition and to enrich their youth through sports.

On April 14, the Sports Administration held a welcome dinner for the Palau Baseball and Table Tennis National Teams Training Program in Taiwan. SA Director-General Cheng Shih-chung (left) personally attended the event and presented a gift to Palau Ambassador Orrukem (right).

The Sports Administration has allocated NT$50 million to Taitung County Government for the construction of Taitung Extreme Sports Park. The county government held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 21, 2025.
