Taiwan’s Paris Olympic delegation sets off Premier Cho Jung-tai personally sees off the athletes and hopes they will enjoy the competition and bring medals home

The 2024 Paris Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11. The Taiwan delegation left for France on July 19. Premier Cho Jung-tai made a special trip to the airport to cheer and encourage our athletes. Political Deputy Minister of Education Chang Liao Wan-chien and Sports Administration Director-General Cheng Shih-chung were also present to see the athletes, coaches and staff on their way and offer their blessings. The Taiwan delegation comprises 144 people in total and will head to Paris in 12 batches, with 41 people setting off today.
Premier Cho said that the government provides customized services to athletes covering all aspects, including training venues, sports science support, and Gold Plan training, acting as their strongest backing support and fully assisting athletes and coaches in the final sprint in the run-up to the games. They will also receive timely support during the competition to help them achieve the best results.
Advancing to the Olympic stage is the greatest honor and ambition for an athlete. After undergoing arduous training and constantly pushing their limits, the athletes are well prepared to compete against the best in the world. Premier Cho hopes that Taiwan’s athletes will do their best, bring their maximum power into full play, and strive for excellent results. Compatriots across Taiwan will provide firm support for the athletes.
To finish, Premier Cho also wished the participating athletes, coaches and all team members a safe and successful trip to Paris, excellent results and expressed the hope they can win glory for Taiwan. He also invited everyone to cheer on our athletes.
