HYPE Sports Innovation Delegates Visit Taiwan, Strongly Affirm Taiwan’s Sports Innovation Strength

HYPE Sports Innovation’s VP Strategy Zvika Popper and Global Manager Terry Dehghani visited Taiwan and paid Director-General Kao, Chin-hsung of the Sports Administration a visit, accompanied by representatives from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) Center of Industry Accelerator and Patent Strategy (IAPS) on March 5, 2019. Director-General Kao hopes that through the sports ecosystem established worldwide by HYPE Sports Innovation (HYPE), Taiwan’s sports innovation industry could be pushed further onto the international stage. HYPE VP Strategy Zvika Popper mentioned, “Taiwan has substantial innovation strength and I am very pleased that HYPE has chosen Taiwan, in 2018, as the first sports innovation accelerator in Asia. I hope in future we can build closer cooperative relations with Taiwan”.

HYPE’s VP Strategy and Global Manager were mainly in Taiwan to attend the first cycle Demo Day (March 4) of SPIN Accelerator Taiwan which the SA commissioned IAPS and HYPE to establish in 2018. The visitors from HYPE were surprised and full of praise for the strength and potential displayed by the sports innovation teams from Taiwan at the Demo Day and the level and spirit of Taiwan’s sports innovation industry overall, and also thanked the government of Taiwan for promoting and supporting the domestic sports innovation industry.

During the visit, HYPE VP Strategy also expressed his hope that cooperation with Taiwan could be enhanced in the future, including the APEC Sports Policy Network (ASPN) conference that the Sports Administration will hold in Manila and Taichung in June and November this year, and the Sports industry Expo at Taipei in July 2020, to create more diverse opportunities for cooperation. The aim is developing the links of Taiwan’s sports innovation teams with the international market, fully displaying Taiwan’s sports innovation soft power to the world and opening up boundless opportunities for Taiwan’s sports innovation.
