The Ministry of Education carried out a survey to examine the condition of physical exercise participation in all level schools, and used the stratified random sampling method according to region and number of classes in the schools, sampling 10% of all level schools in the country, totaling to 462 schools (elementary 271, junior high 87, high school 87, university 32). The number of surveys total to 39203 copies, and recalled 31307 copies, percentage of recall 79.86%. The survey focuses on student participation in school sport groups, needs and feelings toward school Physical Education classes, needs and feelings toward school sport groups, ways of transportation to school, bike-riding abilities, and regular exercising habits.
