Olympic and Asian Games' Sports Association Review and Evaluation Plan Results Release
On April 28 the Sports Administration Deputy Director-General Lin Che-hung presided over the press release announcing the results of the Olympic and Asian Games' Sports Association Review and Evaluation Plan Results. The results and reports were also posted on the Sports Administration's website for public reference.
The Sports Administration drafted the Olympic and Asian Games' Sports Association Review and Evaluation Plan in accordance with Article 8 of the "National Sports Act" and the "Guidelines Governing Sports Association Guidance and Assessment Methods for Sports Associations". The purpose is to assist in the business affairs, accounting system, financial status, and promotion of Olympic and Asian Games' sports associations; and to assess whether or not the planning, structure and operations of the organization are efficiently and effectively managed. This review and evaluation will assist Olympic and Asian Games' sports associations increase operational efficiency, strengthen financial and accounting systems, and improve the effectiveness of sports promotions in order to realize their overall objectives. Ensuring the respective affairs of each Olympic and Asian Games' sports associations are being handled effectively and in coordination with Taiwan's strategy on developing focus sports will enable the Sports Administration to actualize the goals of advancing policies that bolster Taiwan's sports competitiveness.

奧亞運單項運動團體訪評計畫結果公布
教育部體育署4月28日由林哲宏副署長主持「奧亞運單項運動團體訪評計畫」訪評結果公告記者會，公布奧亞運單項運動團體訪評結果，訪評結果及報告同時公告於體育署網站，供社會大眾參考。
體育署表示，依據「國民體育法」第8條及「體育團體輔導及考核辦法」訂定「奧亞運單項運動團體訪評計畫」，目的為輔導奧亞運單項運動團體組織會務、會計制度與財務狀況及業務推廣，並檢視協會組織之規劃及制度之建立、會務運作是否符合效益，藉由訪評輔導各奧亞運單項運動團體落實其組織設立宗旨及增進會務運作效能，健全財務與會計制度以及強化運動業務推展績效，促使各奧亞運單項運動團體各司其職，並配合國家重點運動發展策略，以達成推展國家競技體育政策之目標。

Spectacular Performances Dazzling Conclusion
2017 National High School Athletic Games Concludes ‒ See you in Taichung Next Year!
The Sports Administration anticipates that the development of sports will spur an increase in Taiwan's sports population and improve students' overall physical fitness indices, and also hope that students will learn to persevere, respect other competitors, and foster self-discipline. In addition, The Sports Administration are actively promoting the training of sports talents, establishment of regional cultivating systems, integration of grassroots athlete training mechanisms, and opening up of channels for academic advancement that will help to continue strengthening our nation's sports talent.
The 2017 National High School Athletic Games Closing Ceremony was held at the Changhua County Auditorium. The Hsiushui Junior High School Flute Band started off the celebration by playing the "Irish Suite" and the Changhua Art High School Dance Class performed the "Dance of Youth;" followed by a retrospective of this year's thrilling Games' performances highlighting athlete's in the heat of competition, experiencing the joys of victory, and receiving applause for their efforts; and at the end, the championship team and sports spirit awards were presented. County Magistrate Wei Ming-gu thanked all of the Games' volunteers for their devoted efforts throughout this event and presented them with a Volunteer Service Certificate during the Closing Ceremony. He also invited everyone back to continue exploring and experiencing the hospitality and vitality of Changhua.
After the conclusion of the 2017 Games had been announced, the Sports Administration's Chief Secretary Wang, Han-chung passed the flag to the host of the 2018 Games ‒ the Taichung City Government. The tradition of excellence and honor passes on to future generations. The Sports Administration anticipate that elite athletes will gain further inspiration from the upcoming 2017 Taipei Universiade and the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina as they continue putting forth outstanding performances for Taiwan.

教育部體育署希望透過推展運動，提升我國運動人口的參與率，並加強學生體適能指標的各項表現，並期待所有選手都能從競賽的過程中，學習到奮力不懈、尊重選手與自律等精神，同時也積極推動學校運動人才培育，輔導建立區域培育體系，整合基層運動選手系統化培訓體制，並暢通升學管道，厚植國家運動人才。
106年全中運閉幕典禮於彰化縣演藝廳舉行，並由秀水國中直笛隊帶來「愛爾蘭組曲」及彰化藝術高中舞蹈班畢業生自編的「舞youth青春」進行閉幕表演。緊接在表演節目後的是本次精彩賽事的回顧，呈現賽會活動的點點滴滴及選手們在競技場上喜悅、激戰及喝采的身影，並頒發運動團體錦標獎及運動精神獎；魏明谷縣長為感謝本次大會全體志工在全中運賽會期間，不畏辛勞的在各競賽場地服務，也特別於閉幕典禮頒發志工服務證書，並邀請全國民眾再度至彰化進行深度旅遊，持續感受彰化的熱情與活力。
106年全中運宣布閉幕後，會旗由體育署王漢忠主任秘書交接給下屆主辦單位臺中市政府，永續傳承全中運的卓越與輝煌，並預祝菁英選手接續在今年臺北舉辦的世界大學運動會以及2018年阿根廷布宜諾斯艾利斯的夏季青年奧林匹克運動會，持續為臺灣體壇締造佳績。

"Sports New Southbound" Opens Sports Exchange Horizons
In accordance with the "New Southbound Policy Promotion Plan" and efforts to strengthen a talent exchange pipeline, in 2017 the Sports Administration began implementing the "Sports New Southbound Policy Promotion Plan". The Plan comprises three main policy initiatives ‒ expanding bilateral sports exchanges, encouraging new residents to participate in Sport for All, and opening up exchange channels for sports leaders. The implementation of the 23 work plans including training (e.g., training through competition, off-site training), organizing sports research exchanges, participation in sports events, and holding invitational sports games will open up sports exchanges and cooperation with New Southbound nations as well as ensuring the rights of new residents and migrant workers to participate in sports activities. The highlights at this stage of these implementations are as follows:
1) School Sports: Striving to strengthen grassroots teams' participation in training through competition, expand schools' sports interactions and exchanges, and promote school physical education and academic development, the Sports Administration have drafted the "Sports New Southbound ‒ Promoting School Sports Implementation Plan" providing subsidies to municipal and county and city governments and promoting exchanges with Southeast Asian nations for schools at all levels. This year marks the first time athletes from New Southbound nations have been invited to participate in the National Intercollegiate Athletic Games and National High School Athletic Games. There were a total of 4 weightlifters from Thailand, 6 track & field athletics from Malaysia, and 3 gymnasts from Malaysia participating in the National High School Athletic Games; and at the National Intercollegiate Athletic Games there were 6 athletes from Malaysia and 4 staff members participation in the 4 sports of taekwondo, karate, high jump and long jump.
2) Sport for All: As a means of encouraging new residents to cultivate regular exercise habits, the Sports Administration are implementing the 2017 iSport Taiwan Plan, which provides assistance to county and city governments for holding new resident sports and exercise classes; and also launched the "Women Get Moving, Exercise Easy Go!" ‒ Invigorating Women's Sports Participation Action Plan. Additionally, in order to establish a domestic foreign worker sports exchange platform to increase migrant worker participation in sport, a survey study has already been conducted on the current implementation status in cities and counties and will be used as a reference for follow-up initiatives.
3) Competitive Sports: To establish a succession of talented young athletes in preparation for the 18th Asian Games 2018, we have implemented the "Nurturing of Outstanding Athletes or Potential Athletes Plan" and "Jakarta Asian Games 2018 Training Program". As of the first quarter, 29 potential young men and women athletes have participated in cycling and tennis youth championship competitions held in New Southbound nations.
4) International Sports Exchanges: This year the Sports Administration are ramping up efforts to invite more New Southbound nations to participate in international sports competitions. During the first quarter of this year 60 athletes and staff from 10 New Southbound nations (Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka) have come to compete in Taiwan. Additionally, this May the Sports Administration held the APEC 2017 Workshop: "APEC Education and Entrepreneurship: Youth, Women and Athletes" in Vietnam, this year's APEC Host Economy. The Sports Administration have invited sports officials, scholars, and experts from the New Southbound nations of Australia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam to give presentations.
The Sports Administration is motivated by the core concepts of "long-term growth, diversified development, and bipartisan benefits" supported by the strategies of "sharing resources" and "bilateral exchanges". The Sports Administration looks forward to working with the nations in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), south Asia region, and New Zealand and Australia to create a mutually beneficial win-win cooperation model.

體育新南向 體育運動交流新氣象
教育部體育署配合「新南向人才培育推動計畫」，共同致力於強化人員交流管道計畫方向，自本（106）年起執行「體育新南向政策推動計畫」，以「擴展雙向體育運動交流」、「鼓勵新住民參與全民運動」及「拓展體育領導人交流管道」3大策略為主軸，透過培訓（以賽代訓、移地訓練）、辦理體育研習交流、參賽、辦理邀請賽等23項工作計畫，開拓與新南向國家體育運動交流與合作，及落實國內新住民、外籍移工運動權。現階段各面向執行亮點如下：
一、學校體育方面，為加強基層團隊參賽培訓、拓展學校體育參訪研習，促進學校體育教學及學術發展，訂定「體育新南向-推動學校體育實施計畫」，補助直轄市、縣（市）政府及本部主管之各級學校與東南亞國家交流。今年更首度邀請新南向國家選手來臺參加全大運、全中運交流活動，計有4位泰國舉重選手、6位馬來西亞田徑選手及3位馬來西亞體操選手參與全中運；在5月登場的全大運，也邀請到6名馬來西亞選手及4名隊職員來臺，參加跆拳道、空手道、跳高及跳遠等4競賽種類。
二、全民運動方面，為協助新住民建立規律運動習慣，體育署透過106年運動i臺灣計畫，補助縣市政府辦理新住民運動融合班，並推動「Women動起來，運動Easy Go！ - 活力女性運動參與推廣」；另為建構外籍移工運動交流平臺，加強外籍移工運動參與，已完成各縣市執行現況調查，做為後續推動計畫內容參考。
三、競技運動方面，為建立我國國家隊接班梯隊及備戰「2018年第18屆亞洲運動會」，實施「培育優秀或具潛力運動選手計畫」及「2018雅加達亞運培訓計畫」。截至第1季已有潛力選手29人次赴南向國家參加自由車、網球等青少年男女錦標賽賽事。
四、國際體育交流方面，今年加強邀請新南向國家來臺參加國際單項運動賽事，截至第1季已有澳洲、印尼、馬來西亞、新加坡、菲律賓、越南、泰國、印度、尼泊爾、斯里蘭卡等10個新南向國家逾60名選手及隊職員來臺參賽。此外，體育署規劃於本年5月赴APEC主辦國－越南辦理「APEC教育及創業：青年、女性與運動員」研討會，邀請澳洲、菲律賓、新加坡、泰國及越南等新南向國家體育運動官方代表或學者專家擔任講者。
體育署將以「長期深耕、多元開展、雙向互惠」為核心理念，並輔以「資源共享」及「雙向交流」之策略，以「心」為軸，期待與東協、南亞及紐澳等國家，創造互利共贏的新合作模式。

Sports Tourism Exhibit ‒ Sports Makes Traveling More Exciting!
In 2016, the Sports Administration held the 2016 Premium Sports Tours Selections Contest, and through careful consideration the Sports Administration had chosen the following 12 sports tour itineraries: "Penghu Pirates Squad," "Walami Historical Trail ‒ Bunun Literature Encounters," "Tribal Village: Cycle and Stay Overnight," "Mountains and Streams ‒ Swim, River Trace, Cycle, Trail Run, Yoga, and Horse Riding," "Smile-Catcher ‒ Summer Cycling Into Nature," "Canoe Thru Fireflies & Jog On Pomelo Dew," "10 Top Spots ‒ Round-Island Cycling-Bus Tour," "Biathlon Scuba and Cycling ‒ Green Island," "Hike Taiwan's Top 5 Mountains," "Kaohsiung No. 1 ‒ Golfing Extravaganza (5 Days)," "Happy Liuqiu ~ Pearl of the Sea ‒ Dapeng Bay Resort Village Tour," and "Experience Dapeng Bay and Liuqiu!". Select travel agencies have been invited to promote great deals on quality healthy tour packages at the 2017 Taichung International Travel Fair and 2017 Taipei Tourism Expo. This will give the public an opportunity to learn about different ways of traveling and invigorate the development of our nation's sports tourism industry.

教育部體育署於105年舉辦「105年優質運動遊程徵選活動」，精心遴選出「澎湖海賊團」、「瓦拉米古道遇見布農文學」、「騎到部落住一晚」、「泳溯溪洄瀾逐輕蹄瑜情森林跑走騎」、「Smile-Catcher-夏日用單車走向自然」、「螢火扁舟畫春分 柚跑騎跡繪白露」、「單車巴士十大經典環島」、「兩棲小鐵人海潛騎旅-綠島風海洋」、「臺灣五岳行」、「高雄NO.1 -桿洞高球(五天)」、「樂活小琉球~海上明珠~大鵬灣風情渡假村之旅」及「大鵬游小琉戀」等共計12件運動遊程，於「2017臺中國際旅展」及「2017臺北國際觀光博覽會」中邀集獲選旅行社，推出最超值好康的優惠促銷活動，讓民眾能親身體驗不一樣的旅遊型態，也帶動我國運動觀光旅遊業的發展。

105 School Academic Year Student Baseball League Tournament
The Student Baseball League Aluminum Bat Division Municipality and County Tournament took place from January 18 to March 10. This year 128 teams from 21 municipalities and counties registered to compete, an increase of 8 more teams compared to 104 School Academic Year and the most teams that have participated over the past 20 years. Clearly there are a growing number of schools wanting to participate in baseball and this shows that the government's efforts to promote baseball are making headway.
Teams from 52 schools advanced to the National Tournament with preliminary competition divided up into 16 groups playing in a round robin format with 2 teams advancing from each group. A total of 32 teams competed at the National Finals adopting an elimination format. The National Championship took place on April 16 as New Taipei Municipal Xinpu Junior High School went up against Tainan Municipal Minde Junior High School, and New Taipei Municipal Xinpu Junior High School won the first championship in their school history.
The Sports Administration holds the Student Baseball League every year. The goal is to get students on the field and play baseball instead of just watching. The students don't have to play on the school team, even club teams are welcome to participate in the Student Baseball League. This initiative will also serve to cultivate students' regular exercise habits, expand the number of grassroots teams, and promote overall growth of the baseball population.

105學年度學生棒球運動聯賽
學生棒球運動聯賽國中硬式組縣市賽賽事已於1月18日至3月10日期間舉行完畢，本年度共21縣市128隊報名參加，與104學年度相比，增加了8隊，為近20年來參賽隊伍數最多的一屆。顯示我國有越來越多學校願意參與棒球運動，政府推動棒球運動又向前邁進一步。
本屆各縣市共選拔52所學校參加全國賽，全國賽預賽分16組採循環賽制，每組錄取2隊晉級；全國賽決賽共32隊，採淘汰排名賽制。4月16日的冠軍戰由新北市新埔國中對決台南市民德國中，最後由新埔國中拿下隊史首座冠軍獎盃。
體育署每年均舉辦學生棒球聯賽，希望透過舉辦這樣的賽事，讓學生不再只是看棒球，而是一起來打棒球，就算只是社團性質，也都能來參加聯賽賽事，同時也藉此培養學生養成規律運動習慣，擴大基層棒球的參與隊數，進而培育棒球運動參與人口。
