Taiwan Holds First Women's Boxing Championship Don't Miss the Excitement!

The 2015 AIBA Women's Junior/Youth World Boxing Championships is scheduled to take place from May 16th-23rd at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium. More than 400 women boxers from over 40 countries, along with 15 from our nation, will be battling head-to-head to capture medals at this biennial amateur world championship. The women's world boxing championship is a world-class competition that sports fans will not want to miss.
International Boxing Association (AIBA) President Dr. Wu Ching-kuo, who is from Taiwan, has long been engaged in the vigorous promotion of women's boxing. At the 2012 London Olympics, the sport became an official Olympic event for the first time and women's boxing continues growing in popularity. This year's women's junior and youth world boxing championships will also be the first time Taiwan has held an international boxing competition in recent years. The Chinese Taipei Amateur Boxing Association has decided to make this event admission free opening up the opportunity for more people to come out and watch the excitement. A webcast will also stream live on the Sports Administration's MOE Sports website.

女子拳賽臺灣首辦　精彩賽事錯過可惜

「2015年國際拳擊總會女子青少年暨青年世界拳擊錦標賽」訂於5月16日至23日在新莊體育館開打，將有40餘國400多位女子拳擊手齊聚臺灣，我國也有15位女將參賽，爭取兩年一度的世界錦標賽獎牌。愛好運動的民眾千萬不要錯過難得一見的女子拳擊國際賽事。
國際拳擊總會現任主席為我國籍國際奧會委員吳經國先生，在他的力爭之下，女子拳擊在2012倫敦奧運首度成為正式比賽項目，女子拳擊運動也日漸受到關注。本屆女青及女青少世界拳擊錦標賽是臺灣近年來首次舉辦國際拳擊賽事，拳擊協會為了讓更多民眾能夠觀賞難得一見的比賽，決定採免費觀賽。此外，本賽事也將在本署（MOE SPORTS）網站提供網路直播服務。

Sports Administration Promotes School-based Physical Education Curriculum Selection Activities

As a part of the 2014 Benchmark School—School-based Physical Education Curriculum Selections and the PE Is Fun—Physical Education Instructional Material and Teaching Aids initiative, Fumin Elementary School in Taichung City's Xinshe District was selected as a physical education school-based curriculum benchmark school. It is a very small school in the countryside on the outskirts of the city with a total enrollment of only 24 students. The campus is surrounded by mountains and located near the Dajia River. The school has fully embraced its natural surroundings by designing an Outdoors Physical Education School-based Curriculum and has made breakthroughs in traditional curriculum structure by implementing mixed-age classrooms. Here, teachers and students of all grades participate in PE class together.
The role of the Sports Administration's School-based Physical Education Curriculum Selections is to provide support and assistance that helps schools make the most of their unique environment, geography, and cultural characteristics by developing and implementing customized physical education curriculums. We encourage everyone to value the importance of physical education in schools.

體育署推動「學校體育校本課程甄選活動」

103年度的「標竿學校-學校本位體育課程甄選」與「體育課好好玩-體育教材教具甄選」活動，其中臺中市新社區福民國民小學獲選為以體育為校本課程的「標竿學校」，它是一所偏鄉迷你小學，全校只有24位學生，群山環抱，比鄰大甲溪畔，依著學校自然資源規劃出「山野教育校本體育課程」，打破傳統學科課程，不分年級，混齡教學，全校師生一起上體育課!
體育署「學校體育校本課程甄選活動」就是以支持輔導的立場，輔導學校依其學校願景、地理位置、文化特色、課程模式運用等發展具特色的體育課程，也喚起大家對學校體育的重視。

SAMOE Promotes the Run for Fun Plan

The Sports Administration is promoting the Run for Fun Plan as a means of encouraging students to participate in Fun Runs, Open a Health Savings Deposit, Make Regular Deposits, and Accumulate Mileage. We hope this activity will motivate students to be more physically active in the mornings, between classes, after school, and during their spare time on the weekends and holidays. Students will make regular deposits and accumulate mileage by exercising whenever and wherever they can. We anticipate that group participation and peer influence will fuel greater interest in exercise and a more vibrant running atmosphere on campus, helping advance implementation of the Run for Fun Plan in schools at all levels nationwide.

教育部體育署推動大跑步計畫

教育部體育署為鼓勵學生「零存整付，累計里程，快樂跑步，儲蓄健康」，推動大跑步計畫系列活動，期待藉由本次活動，引導學生於晨間、課間、課後或假日動起來，時時運動，處處運動，以零存整付方式累計里程數，期待藉由同儕間的影響力活絡校園路跑風氣，促進全臺各級學校響應大跑步計畫。

2015 National Public and Private
Swimming Pool Inspections Begin
The peak season for swimming is approaching. To protect the rights of consumers and ensure that swimming pool operators comply with swimming pool hygiene and safety measures, the Sports Administration requires city and county governments to carry out the 2015 National Public and Private Swimming Pool Inspections. Operators who fail to meet standards must make the necessary improvements. If standards are still not met on the follow-up inspection, then public announcements will be released to alert and protect consumers.
This year initial swimming pool inspections will be completed by the end of May and follow-up inspections by the end of June. City and county governments are required to coordinate with inspection efforts of health authorities; consumer protection, building management, and environmental agencies; and fire departments. Random inspections can be carried out, and if circumstances arise in which operators refuse, evade, or obstruct the inspection process, in accordance with Article 57 of the Consumer Protection Law, disciplinary action will be imposed and successive fines levied.
This year the Sports Administration requires city and county governments to complete inspections at over 90% of the facilities under their respective jurisdictions. Also, operators who have failed to meet qualifications at the 2014 follow-up inspection will be the focus of inspection efforts in 2015 as we strive to ensure safety and protect the rights of swimmers.

啟動104年全國公私立游泳池查核作業

游泳旺季即將來臨，為保障消費者權益，督促游泳池業者重視泳池衛生與安全維護，本署函請各縣市政府展開104年度公私立游泳池查核，不合格業者將要求改善，複查仍未改善的業者，將發布消費者警訊，以維護全國泳客權益。
此外，本年度游泳池查核作業將於5月底及6月底前分別完成初、複查作業，並請各縣市政府會同消保、衛生、建管、環保、消防等部門共同辦理，可改採不預警查核方式，業者如有拒絕、規避或阻撓調查等情事，可依「消費者保護法」第57條規定處以罰鍰，並得連續處罰之。
為維護泳客消費權益，本署今年度要求各縣市政府，查核率務必達90％以上。另103年度複查後仍未合格之業者列為104年度重點查核對象，使泳客權益確實獲得保障。

2015 Taiwan Cycling Cultural Experiential Tours—Students Complete Tours

The Taiwan Cycling Cultural Experiential Tours, organized by the Chinese Taipei University Sports Federation (CTUSF) over the Spring Break holiday, received enthusiastic response from students. This year showcased four tours: the Northern Taiwan Harbor Tour, Central Taiwan Hakka Cultural Tour, Southern Taiwan Historical Monument and Cultural Tour, and Twin Pagoda Challenge Tour. The Twin Pagoda Challenge Tour proved to be the most challenging. Starting out from New Taipei City's Fu Gui Jiao and heading down to Pingtung County's Eluanbi Lighthouse, participants cycled 120 km each day over this 4 day/3 night 500 km trip, putting their will and physical strength to the test.
Director-General Jow-fei Ho explains that Taiwan has earned the reputation of a "Cycling Kingdom" offering an abundance of spectacular sightseeing attractions. Congratulations to all the students who completed this challenge. Everyone is encouraged to cycle your way to fitness and health, cultivate regular exercise habits, and join the Cycling Tour Club!

104年臺灣單車文化騎跡體驗行 各區學員成功達陣

大專體總4月春假推出「臺灣單車文化騎跡體驗行」活動獲得青年學子熱烈迴響，今年的四大主題，包括北臺灣海港之旅、中臺灣客家文化之旅、南臺灣古蹟文化之旅以及雙塔挑戰之旅。其中以雙塔挑戰之旅最具挑戰性，從新北市富貴角出發，朝屏東鵝鑾鼻燈塔前進，學員需在4天3夜中騎完500公里路程，每日騎乘120公里起跳，考驗參與者意志與體能。
體育署何卓飛署長表示，臺灣擁有自行車王國的美譽，臺灣在地風情有很多值得細細品味的地方，祝賀完成挑戰的學員，並鼓勵青年學子能夠持續透過單車活動健身，培養規律運動習慣，有朝一日成為千里鐵馬俱樂部成員。
