| "I'm a Sports Entrepreneur"—Sports Administration helps National Team Athletes Become Entrepreneurs The Sports Administration encourages more athletes to come up with innovative ideas through the promotion of the "I'm a Sports Entrepreneur" Sports Services Innovation and Entrepreneurship Counseling and Assistance Program. This program promotes a "1, 2, 3 plan—NT$1 million in venture capital, 2 years of career counseling, and 3 years of operational feedback"—with senior sports industry experts adopting participating teams, sharing entrepreneurial experiences and providing consultation and assistance. Kevin Lin, the famous ultramarathon runner, and Hong-yuan Lin, the General Manager of Curves, a women's fitness center, have been invited to take part in these forums and shared their entrepreneurial experiences. This November, a press conference was held to promote the successful stories of some Taiwanese entrepreneurial athletes. These athletes included former national team high jumper Chieh-hong Chen, who created his own line of moisture transferring and quick drying sportswear that earn annual revenues of over NT$100 million; 1994 national rugby team player Han-yuan Chu, who founded a 924 square meter fitness center; and archery national team competitor Ting-ni Chen, who established an archery range through her expertise in this field. Their experiences will present new perspectives and inspire broader visions for the successful development of Taiwan's sports industry. |
「我是運動創業家」體育署協助運動國手轉型創業 教育部體育署為鼓勵更多運動好手提出創新構想，推動「我是運動創業家」運動服務業創新創業輔導計畫，推出「1佰萬創業金、2年內輔導就業、3年後營運回饋」輔導措施，由運動產業前輩認養參賽團隊，提供創業經驗分享及諮詢輔導。知名超馬選手林義傑、Curves女性健身中心總經理林宏遠等受邀參加論壇分享創業經驗。 103年11月舉辦的成果發表會上，也有跳高國手陳鴻傑自創排汗衣，創下年營業額達1億元以上；73年次的橄欖球國手褚瀚元，創建280坪健身運動館；射箭代表隊選手陳婷妮，延續專業創立射箭場館等案例經驗分享， 為臺灣運動產業發展帶來不同的氣象。 |

| iRUN Propels Industrial Park Employee Sports Spirit The 2014 Industrial Park Run (iRUN) carnival took place on 15th November at Dajia Riverside Park. After winning campaigns in Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, and Taipei, in the final leg of the challenge T.E. Bolt (慧國工業公司) captured the Marathon Relay title. Additionally, the Chunghwa Telecom Women's Basketball Team were invited to take part in this event as team captain Shu-ching Yang led her teammates along the 5 km Fun Run. The Management Bureau of the Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park, Central Taiwan Science Park, and Southern Taiwan Science Park actively supported industrial park employees to participate in this year's 5 iRUN events. In all 148 teams, a total of 7,803 participants ran in the Marathon Relay (for employees), bringing industrial parks to life with an energized sports atmosphere. In autumn when the weather turns cool, road runs and cycling races are held throughout Taiwan. We remind organizers and supervising agencies to provide a safe sports environment in accordance with the Guidelines for Road Safety and Protection of Participant’s Rights and Interests. Participants are also urged to gradually work their way up through a stepwise progression, staying within one's own means and always upholding safety first. This will ensure that everyone fully enjoys and appreciates the fun of sports. |
工業區健康快樂跑帶領職工運動風 103年工業區健康快樂跑嘉年華11月15日於大佳河濱公園舉行，歷經新竹、臺中、臺南、臺北各區征戰，最後T. E. Bolt（慧國工業公司）奪下接力賽冠軍。另外，中華電信女子籃球隊也應主辦單位邀請參加，隊長楊淑淨帶隊領跑5公里。 體育署表示，今年為職工朋友所舉辦的5場工業區路跑賽事，有竹科、中科及南科園區管理局支持參與，企業接力組總計有148隊參賽，參賽總人數達7,803人，帶動科學園區的運動風氣。 秋季天候轉為涼爽，全臺各地每週都有路跑、自行車等運動賽事，體育署提醒主辦及監督單位要按照「路跑活動參與者安全維護及權益保障應注意事項」，提供安全的運動環境，也呼籲民眾運動要循序漸進，量力而為，安全至上，才能盡情享受運動的樂趣。 |

| Taiwan Athletes Shine at 4th Asian Beach Games in Phuket Full of sunshine, blue sea, and beautiful beaches the 2014 4th Asian Beach Games took place from 14th to 23rd November at the internationally renowned tourist paradise Phuket, Thailand. Taiwan’s national delegation consisted of 56 athletes who participated in 9 sports, winning gold medals in kurash, women's beach basketball, and extreme sports. Of these, both the women's beach basketball players' Jou-chen Huang, Pin Lo, Yi-ching Su, and Ting-An Chen and extreme sports BMX-Big Air rider Chiao-hung Cheng battled fierce competition against rivals from China to come away with gold medals. The President, Vice President, Premier of the Executive Yuan, and Minister of Education all personally congratulated these medal-winning athletes. Taiwan's athletes captured 3 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze medals, and placed 13th overall at this year's Asian Beach Games. |
第4屆普吉島亞洲沙灘運動會參賽成果 2014年第4屆亞洲沙灘運動會於11月14日起至23日止，在充滿陽光、蔚藍海水及美麗沙灘的國際知名觀光聖地泰國普吉島舉行，我國代表隊共有56名選手參加9種運動競賽，並在克拉術、女子沙灘籃球及極限運動等項目取得金牌。其中，沙灘女籃選手黃柔甄、羅蘋、蘇怡菁及陳亭安與極限運動單車跳高賽(BMX-Big Air)選手鄭喬鴻(Chiao-Hung CHENG)在決賽與強敵中國大陸選手較勁，最後獲得金牌。總統、副總統、行政院院長、教育部部長，皆於第一時間祝賀我國獲獎選手。本次亞洲沙灘運動會我國選手共獲得3金8銀6銅成績，排名第13名。 |

| Chinese Taipei Captures Inaugural 21U Baseball World Cup Title The first ever 21U Baseball World Cup was played from 6th to 18th November at the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, National Taiwan University of Sport Baseball Stadium, and Douliou Baseball Stadium. Top national teams representing 11 nations from 5 continents worldwide gathered in Taiwan for this intensely competitive tournament. From 2000 to 2013, the Sports Administration actively engaged in the implementation of the Baseball Master Plan designed to reinvigorate the development of this sport. From 2014 to 2017, the Sports Administration continues efforts to advance the Baseball Strengthening Program to promote the steady, ongoing development of baseball in Taiwan. These plans have included cooperating with international organizations to continue hosting world-class baseball competition such as the 18U Baseball World Cup, 12U Baseball World Cup, and World Baseball Classic. The Sports Administration also offers great incentives providing allowances for student groups (50 or more) to attend sporting events that cover expenses on tickets, transportation, insurance, and cheer props. When the dust had settled at the inaugural 21U Baseball World Cup, the Chinese Taipei national team ended up defeating Japan 9-0 to resoundingly capture the title. |
中華隊贏得首屆世界盃21U棒球錦標賽冠軍 首屆世界盃21U棒球錦標賽(21U Baseball World Cup)， 11月6日至18日在臺中洲際、國立臺灣體育運動大學棒球場及雲林縣立棒球場三地同時開打，共有五大洲、11國棒球勁旅齊聚臺灣。 體育署指出，99年至102年體委會執行「棒球總計畫」振興棒球運動的發展，體育署持續於103年至106年推動「強棒計畫」，穩定發展臺灣棒球運動，並與國際組織合作，陸續在臺灣舉辦世界盃青棒、世界盃少棒錦標賽及世界棒球經典賽等國際級棒球賽事。 體育署也提供好康措施，補助學生團體(50名以上)觀賞比賽，包含門票、交通、保險、加油打氣器材道具等費用。首屆世界盃21U棒球錦標賽最後由中華隊以9:0比數擊敗日本隊奪下冠軍獎盃！ |

| New Taipei City's Tucheng and Chungho Civic Sports Centers Open The Sports Administration continues providing subsidies to assist local governments in constructing civic sports centers. The fourth and fifth to be completed are the Tucheng Civic Sports Center and Chungho Civic Sports Center, which began trial operations on 19th and 31st October 2014 respectively. In addition to being equipped with the six most commonly used facilities (swimming pool, fitness center, badminton courts, table tennis area, multi-purpose gymnasium, and aerobics classrooms), each site also offers unique local sports with the Tucheng Civic Sports Center housing an ice skating rink and the Chungho Civic Sports Center a field hockey field. The Sports Administration's Improvement of National Sports Environment and Sports Island Establishment Plan has laid out plans to construct 32 civic sports centers in metropolitan areas nationwide, providing the public with a premium quality sports and recreational environment. New Taipei City's Luzhou, Tamshui, Sanchong, Tucheng, and Chungho Civic Sports Centers have already opened, and Hsinchu City's Science and Industrial Park Civic Sports Center will be completed by the end of 2014. |
新北市土城及中和國民運動中心啟用 教育部體育署補助地方政府興建第四座及第五座落成的國民運動中心--「土城國民運動中心」及「中和國民運動中心」分別於103年10月19日及10月31日啟用試營運。兩座運動中心除設置民眾最常使用的游泳池、體適能中心、羽球場、桌球場、綜合球場及韻律教室等六大核心運動設施外，也依照當地的特色運動項目，如土城國民運動中心的冰宮及中和國民運動中心的曲棍球場，別具新意。 體育署「改善國民運動環境與打造運動島計畫」規劃於都會區補助興建32座國民運動中心，提供民眾優質之運動健康環境，目前已有新北市蘆洲、淡水、三重、土城及中和國民運動中心啟用，此外，還有新竹市新科國民運動中心將於103年度完工。 |

| "National Bicycle Path" Completed by Year-end 2015 The Sports Administration is aiming to provide cyclists with a safe and friendly cycling environment. To actualize this initiative, we integrate the resources of the Institute of Transportation, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and the Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of Interior. The construction of the round-Taiwan "National Bicycle Path" is scheduled for completion by year-end 2015. The government has been promoting the National Bicycle Path System Plan since 2002. Since 2009, the Sports Administration has been channeling the inter-ministerial resources of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and Ministry of Interior to better assist local governments in constructing bicycle paths. As of October 2014, over 4,000 km of bicycle path has been completed. The Sports Administration is currently cooperating with the Ministry of Transportation and Communications in efforts to link the 56 paths nationwide into an interconnected system circling the island. The fully-connected nationwide network of bicycle paths is scheduled for completion by the end of 2015. In the future, cyclists will be able to have the choice of heading either east or west enjoying a leisurely cycling experience all the way around Taiwan. |
「自行車國道」即將於104年底前完成 為了提供自行車騎士安全友善的騎乘環境，教育部體育署結合交通部運輸研究所及內政部營建署的資源，將在104年底前，打造一條環繞臺灣的「自行車國道」。 政府從91年開始推動「全國自行車道建置計畫」，民國98年開始，體育署更結合交通部、內政部等跨部會資源，補助各地方政府建設自行車道，到103年10月建置總長度已超過4,000公里。體育署目前與交通部合作，共同會勘全臺56條環島串連路線，預計在104年底前串連全國的自行車道，未來不管向左走或向右走，都可以悠游自在的騎著單車繞行臺灣一圈。 |
